PJ Greetings Review and Giveaway

PJ Greetings is an amazing site that has so much to offer! They offer invitations, birth announcements, stationary, notepads, stamps and more. I was fortunate enough to be able to review one of their custom preinked stamps. Here is a little bit about PJ's stamps:

PJ's stamps are not only totally unique and full of personality, but they are extremely high in quality, yielding several thousand impressions.  They can be ordered in 8 different ink choices, and there are over 300 stamp design choices.   Used for addressing envelopes, identifying books (the library of), crafting (made especially for you by…) etc., you can think of tons of different ways to use them! The possibilities are endless!  Each stamp comes packaged in a pink organza bag with a stamped gift tag.  Stamps typically ship within 2 days after approval from the customer (proofs are emailed).

I had the best time picking out my custom stamp. They have so many to choose from that I thought my choice would be really difficult. But I immediately spotted about 3 that just screamed ME. They are my style, something my husband would like, it was just meant to be. So while there are tons to choose from I really only had to narrow it down from a few to find the perfect one for me and my family.

I decided to do a return address stamp because we can use it on everything. All out outgoing mail, envelopes that go into childcare, even inside my daughter's books and other items we don't want to loose.

The process was simple and fun. I picked my design, then chose what it would say, and finally decided on a color for the ink. The stamp shipped quickly and arrived packaged up beautifully in a pink bag with an example of the ink print on a tag attached. Perfect for gift giving! But of course I was keeping this one for myself.

The stamp is so clear and a great size. I am thrilled with the final product and am sure I will be using it often! Thanks PJ Greetings!

Minnie's Masquerade - on DVD Today!

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Minnie’s Masquerade starring Disney’s Fab Five -- Minnie, Mickey, Donald,  Goofy and Daisy – takes viewers on an all new adventure as they dress-up in their favorite costumes for Minnie’s Masquerade Ball.  In this episode, Minnie needs some help getting everything ready for her party including making royal crowns for their costumes, searching for Sir Goofalot’s lost shoe, stringing up paper lanterns and much, much more. At the ball, Professor Von Drake hosts the great Clubhouse Costume Show and gives out prize ribbons to all the friends who have dressed up in some funny and fancy costumes.  All it takes is a heaping helping of imagination…and the right Mouseketools.

About Disney’s Exclusive Mickey Mote:
Disney’s Mickey Mote works with any Disney Preschool DVD that includes the Discovery Mode™ feature – an interactive “Watch & Play” feature on the DVD.  All parents have to do is program the remote control - there’s an easy and quick set-up guide in each DVD- and select the Discovery Mode feature on the menu screen.  Within minutes, kids will be easily responding to questions, throughout the story, about scenes they just watched by pressing one of four color-coded buttons on the device -- a yellow star, green circle, orange triangle or blue square – to click in their responses.  Discovery Mode features include two levels of play, which provides more challenging questions as the child grows.

The Mickey Mote can be used with any Disney Preschool DVD that includes the Discovery Mode feature. To date there are more than 11 titles that can be used with the remote control, just take a look at the back of the package to make sure.

We received the DVD with the Mickey Mote for review. The minute I pulled it out of the box my daughter started saying "mouse? mouse?" nonstop. So I had to out the DVD in pretty much right away. She LOVES it. I am not exaggerating. She asks for it every single day. She sits on her Mickey's Clubhouse couch and watches intently. A huge hit with this little girl!

I also really like this DVD. I am a huge Disney fan, so I welcome this new love and change of pace from her usual cartoons. You can't beat the traditional Disney favorites, but the best part is how the integrate education into this fun DVD. You learn about the days of the week with a fun song, there's counting, colors and shapes. It's perfect for educational fun!

The Mickey Mote is really cool. My daughter loves remotes, so she loves the fact that she has her own that she gets to use. She's a little young for the activities, but I do them with her and she has a blast! This DVD and Mickey Mote will grow with her for several years. I am so excited that you can purchase more DVD's in this series that can also be used with the Mickey Mote! It's really a brilliant design.

And you can save $5 when you purchase the DVD and Mickey Mote Play Set! Just click the image below.

Week 5 Weight Loss

Better late than never, right? This week was kind of like a plateau for me. I didn't find myself starving all week like I had in previous weeks. I also didn't feel the need to binge eat every second of every day. I went about with my normal routine, cooking what I had in the house since I didn't go food shopping last week. The only thing I really did was watch my portions and my eating between meals.

When I snacked I grabbed a 100 calorie pack or a yogurt. I didn't go out of my way to cook extra healthy meals. I mean, we weren't eating fried chicken or fast food, but we ate normally. We had chicken cutlets, ham, pizza.... but I didn't go back for seconds on anything.

Working out has not been going well. I really think the weather has just drained me of all my energy. I will sit on the couch and will myself to turn on the wii and play. Even if for only 20 minutes. But I didn't. Not once. But I have been keeping myself active with lots of cleaning and reorganizing. So I guess that helps a little. I need spring so I can get outside!

So how did this week go for me?
Starting Weight: 177.2
Week 1: 174.8
Week 2: 175
Week 3: 173.4
Week 4: 175
Week 5: 174.4
Weekly Gain/Loss:-.6
Total Gain/Loss: -2.8
First Goal: 165 by March 31st

I'm happy. At least my numbers are heading in the right direction again. I feel like my efforts this week were minimal but present. So that leaves me plenty of room for improvements. One of my biggest problems... plain and simple... I love food.

How did you do?

Peter Rabbit Organics

You may remember that I did a review with Peter Rabbit Organics in the past. I was given the wonderful opportunity to review their fruit puree flavors: Apple and Grape, Strawberry and Banana. and Mango, Banana and Orange. These pouches were a huge hit with me and my daughter. So when I learned that Peter Rabbit Organics was introducing three new flavors I was very excited. And what's even better is that these three new flavors have vegetable and fruit!

It's a challenge to get my daughter to eat vegetables. She will eat fruit with no problem. But everyday we put vegetables in front of her to have them just sit there. I won't stop putting them there with the hopes that she will try them, but I also won't let her go without vegetables in her daily diet. Lucky for me she LOVES pouches.

We were sent the three new flavors (Sweet Potato, Corn and Apple; Pea, Spinach and Apple; Carrot, Squash and Apple) for review. All of these snacks are 100% organic pureed fruit and vegetables with no added sugar, artificial ingredients or preservatives. They are so easy and convenient as well! We never leave the house without a pouch in the diaper bag! They don't have to be refrigerated before serving and have an easy twist off cap. And my daughter can feed herself, making it an easy snack on the go.
And the best part is.... she LOVES the new flavors!

You can check out Peter Rabbit's selection and learn more on their website. You can also shop for them on Amazon (love it... delivered to your door!). And be sure to follow Peter Rabbit Organics on Facebook and Twitter to be kept in the loop with all their news and updates!

Momma Fail

So I had a crazy morning. I over slept... a lot... because I didn't get much sleep last night at all. Just one of those nights where your mind refuses to shut down and you think about anything and everything. So as I was running out the door to work I realized I never weighed in. I can't bring myself to weigh in this afternoon because I like to do it at the same time every week. So, I will weigh in first thing tomorrow morning and let you all know how it went!

But in the meantime... check in with everyone else over at the Weekly Weight Loss Challenge!

My Own Happiness Project

This week we had a guest speaker come to my work. Gretchen Rubin is an author who wrote a book called "The Happiness Project." So she spoke to us about her journey to becoming a happier person. I haven't read the book yet, but I thoroughly enjoyed her talk and it motivated me in so many ways.

She said a few things that really hit home for me. Like this one example of how cleaning out your medicine closet can make you feel like a different person. It's so very true! Last week we had a snow day and I needed something to keep me busy and keep myself from eating the day away. So I decided to clean out my pantry. The pantry door is always closed. No one can see it. No one but me and my husband ever go in there. But having it cleaned out and organized mad me feel like a huge weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I felt like I had a productive day and my mind literally felt more organized.

Another thing that she mentioned was that one of the best things you can do to start your day off happy is to make your bed. Something so simple and small can change the whole way you think and feel when you start your day. I didn't know if I bought it. So yesterday I tried it. I never make my bed. Bad habit. But yesterday I did and it really did make a difference. I had gone out to dinner with friends and I came home to a beautiful room with a nicely made bed. I felt great climbing in. It was weird how simple it was to find peace in something I had never given much thought to.

So I have decided to start my own Happiness Project. I am going to do some small things to help make myself feel more productive, organized, and less stressed. She also noted that if you come across something that can be done in less than a minute never put it off. Hang up your coat. Throw something in the garbage instead of on the counter. Wash the glass instead of leaving it in the sink.

I am sure there is so much more to her book. She talked about feelings and controlling anger. She talked about her goals for how she acted with her family, spending time with them, keeping a one sentence journal to remember every day of her kids' lives. All of these things have intrigued me and I plan on reading the book. But for now, I am taking some small steps. I am making my bed. I am cleaning out drawers, cabinets, closets, anything I can organize... a little at a time. I'm a mom, a wife, a teacher, a genuinely busy person. So small things are all I can handle at the moment. But I am excited to see if these small things make a big difference!

The Couponizer Review and Giveaway

Sponsored by Tomoson.com

I just started using coupons within the past year. I think it began when I first had my daughter and I was getting tons of baby related coupons in the mail. I started to realize just how much money I could save by using these amazing coupons. So I started to clip them from the newspaper, print them online, get them from magazines. It was so easy and I would just pull them when I saw them.

For me the hard part came in with the organizing and keeping on top of what I have. I would have tons of expired coupons, coupons I forgot about, coupons I forgot to take with me when I went shopping. It became a lot more work than I was willing to put in. So I started to organize.
Do you like my system? What's that blank one? Your guess is as good as mine. Yup, coupons everywhere. And when I would grab an envelope to bring with me to the store I would find coupons all over the bottom of my bag. It was a better system, but it still wasn't working.

Then I was given the opportunity to review the Couponizer.
Each Couponizer system comes with:
The Couponizer booklet - measures 8" tall, 6" wide, 1" deep (before coupons), 18 pockets for grocery coupons, 6 pockets for other coupons such as Restaurants, Retail, Rewards, 2 shopping pockets (Coupons to be used this shopping trip & Checkout), 3 loyalty card card sleeves, metal spiral bind, elastic closure strap, durable plastic covers.  The system also includes:
  • 1 Shopping List pad - 20 tear off sheets/cardboard backing
  • 1 CoupTracker pad - 15 tear off sheets/cardboard backing for record spending and savings by store
  • 1 CoupStacker - pre-sorting mat used to organize coupons according to pocket when clipping
  • 1 Carrying Bag - clear zippered vinyl bag
  • 1 pair of scissors
Wow, this system is so easy to use and easy to keep yourself organized. I can quickly flip to the dairy section and see if I have any yogurt coupons. I can place the coupons I am planning on using on this shopping trip in a special section, or expiring soon coupons in a section so I can be sure to use them. And I love that it comes with a bag that zippers. This is helpful to me for two reasons. The first is that when I come across a coupon I just put it in the bag with the Couponizer. This way I just take one morning a week to organize and look at what I've collected. I don't need to organize every time I find a coupon, everything is together in one spot for when I have a few minutes to go through it. The second reason I love it is because I take the whole thing with me when I shop. No coupons spilling and I won't forget any at home!

It's really amazing to see how quickly your savings add up. And you can even keep track of your savings in the Couponizer if you want. I like to see those numbers go up!
