Rock N Learn Review and Giveaway

I am a huge fan of providing fun and educational programs for children. As a teacher I would love to find videos that would engage the students. Of course you can't leave education to a TV or computer, a teacher is the main facilitator, but it's also important to realize that we live in a digital age. Our children are growing up in a world that provides stimulation and immediate feedback in everything they do. So they tend to have a much greater focus when you use forms of technology because that's how their brains have been trained. That's what they are exposed to.

Rock N Learn gives you that great opportunity to engage your children in learning. They create DVD's that take educational materials and set them to music. They offer these DVD's in a variety of age levels and subject areas. They start as young as preschool with things as simple as nursery rhymes and ABC's, and go up to subject areas as advanced as Physical Science and the Solar System. They even have DVD's for other languages.

Rock N Learn has given me the great opportunity to review the Rock N Learn Phonics Volume 1 and 2. This program is intended for children ages 6 and up, so clearly too old for my daughter. But when I put it on to review it myself my daughter did bop and dance along to the beat. These DVD's are great! They provide a fun and upbeat way of learning what can be a very challenging concept for many children. Phonics is a huge concept in reading and writing. But with the bright and colorful graphics and interactive opportunities make for a fully engaging experience. They even pause at certain points to allow your child to practice and participate in the lessons. Another great point is that they can reach a variety of learners. It has visual and audio feedback, as well as the rhythm and beat aspect.

I really enjoyed the DVD and will certainly hold onto it for when my daughter is a little older. In the mean time I am going to look into some of the more age appropriate selections offered by Rock N Learn.
