Cars 2 Hits the Street Today!

Star racecar Lightning McQueen and the incomparable tow truck Mater take their friendship to exciting new places in “Cars 2” when they head overseas to compete in the first-ever World Grand Prix to determine the world’s fastest car.  But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage.  Mater finds himself torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret mission orchestrated by master British super spy Finn McMissile and the stunning rookie field spy Holley Shiftwell.  Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world.  The fast-paced fun includes a colorful new all-car cast, complete with menacing villains and international racing competitors.

I have been looking forward to the release of Cars 2 on DVD since it hit theaters. As the mother of a toddler the movie theater is not a place we get to go very often. So I was bummed to have to stay home and wait for Cars 2 to be released on DVD, but now the wait is over!

I am a big fan of Cars and fell in love with the characters. So to see Lightning McQueen and Mater again was like seeing old friends. As usual, their plans don't quite go as smoothly as one would hope. The two companions manage to find adventure at every bend and take us to all new places. 

Lots of familiar faces are found in this movie, as well as some all new characters. Though Mater maintained his position as my favorite! I just adore his lovable personality and loyalty to Lightning McQueen. Though this time around he gets a bit more action and adventure of his own. 

While this is a sequel, it's unique enough to hold it's own.  It is still a really fun film for the whole family. Disney has this talent for creating entertainment that can really be enjoyed by all ages, and Cars 2 is no exception. And lets face it, Pixar animation just can't be beat! 

I would highly recommend picking up a copy of Cars 2 for your next family movie night! And to make the night even more fun you can get some great activities and make some fun recipes!
