MY THOUGHTS:
We have been waiting anxiously for this movie to come out on Blu-ray! Ever since we saw it in theaters, the entire family has been excited to see it again. The movie is so full of emotion. As a mom, I found it to be eye opening to get a look into how a kid might be feeling without fully letting you in. Even my daughter found some sadness in the movie and cuddled closer to me at some touching moments. It was great to see it together and be able to talk about it after. I loved having that opening to tell her that it's ok to feel sad.
But aside from being moving and heartwarming, it was also fun and funny! The characters are incredible. My daughter really was drawn to sadness. She loves to lay down on the floor and pretend to be her. I personally love Bing-Bong. I mean really, he cries candy! I would love to see him reappear in his own little short!
I feel like this movie has so much to offer. It has an incredibly interesting concept. I love the idea of the islands that make up who you are. Riley's islands were made up of all the important people and things in her life that made her who she is. There were just so many awesome little concepts that just all pulled together to make a brilliant story, like long term memory and the train of thought. Cute plays on words. It's the perfect movie for families to watch together. To laugh and cry together. And to take the opportunity to talk about feelings and how ever feeling is important and valid. It's a fun family movie night for sure!!
The Bonus features of this film are also outstanding. We really enjoyed LAVA when we saw it in the theater. The music was beautiful and the tale of true love was so beautifully illustrated. So it was a lot of fun to be able to relive that moment again.
I also really enjoy getting a peak into how these films come to life. An amazing amount if time and work goes into creating something so magical. And the human mind is truly a fascinating place that these artists have created!
But my absolute favorite feature was the all new short, Riley's First Date? I love how the emotions are carried over to the different characters and they take on a whole new persona! It is so clever and well done. And it's very humorous to see how everyone reacts to this new journey in Riley's life!
I would highly recommend you check this movie out! And here are some fun coloring sheets to help make the most of your fun family movie night!

When I had my daughter, six years ago, cord blood banking was mentioned to me in passing. I wasn't provided with too much information and it wasn't brought up again after that first and only mention. It wasn't something I heard other moms talking about and wasn't on my list of things to research as an overwhelmed new mom-to-be. But it should have been.
Over the years I have learned so much more about it. Perhaps it's because I am now aware, but I see advertisements and have noticed fliers in doctor's offices. But the information needs to be easily available. Someone needs to be informing new moms about the choices they have for cord blood banking.
Knowing your options when it comes to cord blood banking is so important. I think it is something every mom-to-be should be informed about and given enough information to make the best decision for their family. It is something that is so easy to do, and could potentially save your child's life.
Cord blood banking is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to collect, process and preserve your baby’s stem cells for future medical use. Collecting your baby’s cord blood is a simple and safe procedure that happens immediately after the birth and usually takes the healthcare provider about 5 minutes to collect and package for shipment to our state-of-the-art facility located in New Jersey. Cord blood is an important source of rich stem cells, and has been proven in treatments to help replace and rebuild diseased blood cells. Today, cord blood stem cells are used in the treatment of more than 80 diseases, 1 including various types of blood disorders and cancers such as leukemia.
Advanced Biobanking A New Generation of Proactive Life-Banking Services: Advanced Biobanking Ongoing medical research is showing that the stem cells in cord blood have transformative potential and are used to treat more than 80 different diseases and are being studied for the treatment of dozens more.1 But cord blood is only the beginning. Advanced Biobanking. Their Future is Here. You want the best for your baby and family. So do we. That’s why we’re combining our years of experience and leadership in stem cell research and development to deliver a new generation of advanced, first-in-class biobanking services.
There is a lot to learn about the possibilities of Advanced Biobanking, from placental blood banking to complete placenta banking to cord vessels and cord platelet rich plasma. The LifeBankUSA website has everything you need to know to make an informed decision for your family on cord blood banking.
I wish our family had been provided with more information, and I hope that this reaches some new moms-to-be out there who will at least take a few minutes to look over LifeBankUSA's website. A little information can go a long way!

SYNOPSIS:
Celebrate Disney’s “Cinderella,” a modern classic that shines with beauty, imagination…and magic! Despite being mistreated by her stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and stepsisters, a spirited Ella (Lily James) resolves to take charge of her fate. Add a royal ball, a Fairy Godmother (Helena Bonham-Carter) and a glass slipper, and suddenly – magic becomes reality!
My Thoughts:
For as long as I can remember, Cinderella has been my favorite Disney movie. When my daughter was three years old I was so excited to share the classic story with her, and was thrilled when she fell in love with it... just like I did. She is now 6 years old.... and taking her to see this new movie in the theater was beyond magical! Her uncle also came with us, and after the movie he said his favorite part was watching her watch the movie. He saw excitement and magic in her eyes throughout!
Now if you ask my daughter her favorite part she will tell you two things.... when the pumpkin grows too big for the green house and when the Fairy Godmother gives her the gown. Oh the gown! Every girls dream... no matter how old... is to wear a gown that beautiful!
I am so excited to have this now on DVD so that my daughter and I can relive the magic any time we want. It is filled with magic and laughter, as well as a little sadness and tears. My daughter cried when Cinderella's mother died, which made me cry! But the movie is filled with so much goodness. The words, "Have courage and be kind," are words I want my daughter to live by. Cinderella is a beautiful, kind, caring girl who rises above life's greatest challenges and heartaches. And she comes out stronger and even more beautiful for it. Inside and out.
This movie is a classic brought to life. It is a must see for all princesses... no matter their age!
When a group of children find a mysterious animal napping in their backyard, they set out to learn what it is and where it’s from. They search and search, never noticing all the posters and news articles about a sloth that's broken out of the zoo…
When the kids finally discover the identity of the snoozing creature, they hatch a plan to get it home… boy, will this sloth be surprised when he wakes up!
Frann Preston-Gannon has created an endearing, adorable, and huggable title character; a group of intrepid children; and a wildly humorous situation in SLOTH SLEPT ON (Sterling Children’s Books, September 2015)!
Frann Preston-Gannon is the author and illustrator of The Journey Home (Pavilion Press), as well as How to Lose a Lemur and Dinosaur Farm (both Sterling). In 2011, Frann became the first UK recipient of a Sendak Fellowship and spent a month living with and learning from the great master of illustration, Maurice Sendak. She lives in London.
My Thoughts:
I have always had a love for the slow moving, adorable sloths. And the sleepy sloth in this story is definitely adorable! I love how the kids in this story have such creative imaginations. They want to know who this sloth is and where he is from. A pirate? An astronaut? While they may not notice all the posters looking for this sloth, they do figure out a way to learn all about him.
I think it's fabulous how the author combined imagination and fact to make this story so interesting. From outrageous ideas like a sloth knight to all of the interesting facts about sloths, it's a great way to encourage imagination and learning about animals and what makes them who they are. It was a fun story that both of my kids enjoyed!
Niko may live on boring old Earth with his family, but he’s always finding a new adventure. Using the spaceship that he built from a box in his backyard and a little imagination, he flies off into space with his robot, Radar, and his dog, Tag. The only one NOT invited is his sister Posh who keeps trying to insert herself into Niko’s story. In this first mission, Niko and crew (and maybe also pesky Posh) fly to the moon in search of a lost cat. Illustrated in comic–book style and featuring easy–to–read text packed with humor, Space Boy and His Dog is Niko’s first adventure, with two more books planned in the series.
My Thoughts:
This book was a hit in my household for so many reasons! The number one reason is probably because my kids and Niko have so much in common. Every time a box comes into our house it quickly becomes some amazing new adventure. From turning boxes into houses to trains to airplanes to rockets. Kids imaginations are absolutely amazing!
The next reason my kids liked the book so much was they could relate to the characters. Yes, we have the lovely brother-sister relationship where someone is always "not invited" or being left on the moon. I loved that Niko felt compelled to go back and rescue his sister...even if she didn't need rescuing. It was a great conversation for us to talk about including each other when they play and always being there for each other.
I love Niko's imagination and the adventures it takes him on! This is a great book to inspire kids and get them back into reading as we jump into a new school year!

My Thoughts:
My daughter, age 6, thought that this movie was great! I liked that it brought together a bunch of different fairy tales with a bit of a modern day twist. The characters all interacted together and their stories intermixed.
She was a fan of the magic and music. She liked the characters and thought the dwarfs were funny. She liked to point out all of the things that she recognized; characters and story lines. I liked that there were important lessons throughout the story. Never underestimate the underdog, be true to your word, and the importance of friendship.
This movie was a nice mix of adventure, love, and humor. With just the right mix of villains, princesses, and goofy guys. It was a hit with my daughter and she has asked to watch it again!

In a present day idyllic kingdom, the benevolent teenaged son of the King and Queen (Beast and Belle from Disney’s iconic “Beauty and the Beast”) is poised to take the throne. His first proclamation: offer a chance at redemption to the trouble-making offspring of Cruella de Vil, Maleficent the Evil Queen and Jafar who have been imprisoned on a forbidden island with all the other villains, sidekicks, evil step-mothers and step-sisters. These villainous descendants (Carlos, Mal, Evie and Jay, respectively) are allowed into the kingdom to attend prep school alongside the offspring of iconic Disney heroes, including Fairy Godmother, Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Mulan. However, the evil teens face a dilemma. Should they follow in their nefarious parents’ footsteps and help all the villains regain power or embrace their innate goodness and save the kingdom?
My Thoughts:
My daughter has been so excited to see this new movie. The day it arrived she wanted to watch it right away. And since then we have watched it two more times! That should tell you it was a huge hit with my 6 year old!
I loved that this was a movie our whole family could sit down and enjoy. We are bog Disney fanatics, so this was a fun film that brought back some of our favorite villains. It's definitely geared toward the younger generation, but it didn't stop us from having some toe-tapping fun. I mean, who doesn't want to dance to an even peppier version of "Be Our Guest"?
While I was excited to see some off spring of classic characters... Dopey's son!... my daughter was all about Mal. From her clothes, to her singing, to her romance with Belle's Son, Ben. We are now on the hunt for a Mal costume for Halloween!
I was impressed with this fun film. It's a great family movie night flick. And one that my daughter is going to be asking for again and again! Time to start buying some dolls and clothes to keep the party going!

My Thoughts:
Another fabulous DVD to keep the fun going with these cute little ponies. My daughter is a huge My Little Pony fan. She adores the ponies and finds each one so unique in personality and interests. She loves each one fore different reasons, from Rainbow Dash because she loves rainbows, to Fluttershy because she adores animals, to Rarity because they have fashion in common. Each one is special to her in their own way.
This DVD is really fun. I love that some of the episodes are two parters. They are almost like little movies in themselves because the fun keeps on going. My daughter has been watching the DVD over and over again. I love that I can pop the DVD in for an episode or two and keep her TV time to a minimum. Launch into the adventure of a lifetime with everyone's favorite monkey in this all-new movie, Curious George 3: Back to the Jungle! Featuring the voice talents of John Goodman & Angela Bassett, with music by the Plain White T's, join Curious George on his fun-filled journey that the whole family will enjoy!
My Thoughts:
Let's face it, George is a popular monkey! My kids just adore him and all of the crazy, silly situations he finds himself in. From his super fun TV show to his first two movies.... we watch George a lot. So catching the third movie as a family movie night was a no brainer!
This film is not short on fun. George is off on a wild adventure, as usual. Though this time he is on his own... without the Man with the Yellow Hat. And I have to admit, their parting was quite emotional for me! But luckily the laughs were right around the corner when George's typical behavior lands him in a whole new world.... just not the one he's supposed to be in.
It's nice to see George in a different environment, Africa. He gets to make new friends and go on new adventures! It was a very fun family movie night. And my little monkeys have watched it over and over again already!
You can't go wrong with Curious George! And the BONUS Sing-Alongs are great!!

I love to have a variety of levels on hand. My daughter can now independently read level 1 books, while level 2 we read together. Level 3 books I read to her so she starts to get familiar with the stories, vocabulary, and following a more complex plot. These books really help to get a variety of exposure to themes, vocabulary, and plots... and keep them loving reading!
My daughter and I have been having a blast reading each and every one of these titles. I can't recommend them enough and I highly recommend you check them out for your summer of reading!

My Thoughts:
Living with a 6 year old girl, I am very familiar with The Littlest Pet Shop! My daughter adores these sweet little pets, especially Zoe and Pepper. We go on silly adventures with them several times a week when we catch them on the Hub Network.
My daughter loves having these fun episodes on DVD so she can pop them in when she wants to. This DVD is filled with fun. My daughter is a super fashionista, so Paws for Applause is one of her top shows to watch. It's filled with fun and excitement with all of her favorite characters.
We took my five year old daughter to see this magical movie in the theater. Watching her experience this film was truly the best part. She cried and curled up closer to me when Cinderella's father doesn't come home. She laughed so hard when the Fairy Godmother made the pumpkin too big for the green house! And her eyes sparkled as Cinderella entered the ball in the gorgeous gown.
Cinderella has been my favorite story since I was a little girl. Now seeing the magic all over again through the eyes of my daughter is priceless. I can't wait for this wonderful film to make it's way into my home... so we can live the magic over and over again!

“I participated in a Influencer Activation on behalf of Influence Central for First Response. I received product samples as well as a promotional item to thank me for my participation.”
Ever since I was a little girl there was one thing I knew I wanted to be... a mommy. I took care of my dolls, babysat as much as I could, became a camp counselor, and eventually went on to be an elementary school teacher. Kids have always been a part of my life and I knew that I wanted some of my own.
When my husband and I got married I immediately started the conversation. I wanted babies! He was at a different place and wanted to buy a house and be a little more settled. So we agreed on a plan to buy a house and start trying for a baby. Yay!
Once the house was purchased I was ready. Every day that I didn't know if I was pregnant or not was torture. I just wanted to know! Getting pregnant is not always the easiest and can take some time. And for me, it became even more difficult to know because I didn't have a completely regular cycle. So I was shopping for pregnancy tests that would tell me right away! As quick as possible! Early detection was a priority for me.
It's been six years since I took my first pregnancy test. In the past few years I have taken many more and I am so thrilled to share with you the steps that First Response has taken to help us all out with early detection. Can you imagine finding out that you're pregnant 6 days before your missed period?!?! For a woman who is counting the days that is huge!
First Response has also taken into consideration how we have to take the test. I can admit I have peed on my hand. It's not the most pleasant of experiences, but a very small price to pay to see that positive sign! But First Response wants the entire experience to be a good one. So they have give us a cutting-edge curved shaped design to better fit our hands with a longer handle and a 50% wider tip. Making it easier to test and feel confident that we've done it right.
The results are ready in only three minutes and are easy to read. No more guessing! Two pink lines mean... pregnant! The test can be done at any time of day and has a 99% accuracy from the day of your expected period, and it's designed to detect all relevant forms of human hCG throughout pregnancy.
This test if life changing, literally. So accuracy and time are of the utmost importance. First Response wants to give you the answers as quickly and accurately as possible. They also make it super easy to find their products by making them available at all major drugstores and grocery stores and retail from $8.99 - $15.99.

SYNOPSIS:
In the tradition of Disney sports movies comes “McFarland, USA” based on a true story of underdogs triumphing over tremendous obstacles. This heartwarming drama follows novice runners who strive to build a cross-country team under Coach Jim White (Kevin Costner) in their predominantly Latino high school. Everyone has a lot to learn about each other, but when Coach realizes the boys’ exceptional running ability, things change. Beyond their talent, it’s the power of family, commitment to each other and work ethic that transform them into champions — helping them achieve their own American dream.
CAST:
Kevin Costner (“Dances with Wolves,” “The Untouchables”), Maria Bello (“A History of Violence,” “Prisoners”), Carlos Pratts (“Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones,” “Out of the Fire”), Morgan Saylor (TV’s “Homeland,” “Cirque du Freak: The Vampire’s Assistant”).
My Thoughts:
I have to admit that I am not a super sports fan, but I am a fan of touching sports themed movies where people triumph over not-so-great odds. This movie is now ranking among my favorite films of it's kind.
It's not surprising that Disney hit this one out of the park. When it comes to tugging on the heart strings... no one does it quite like Disney. The kids in this story are real. Their stories are real. Their futures were really laid out for them, and they weren't looking that bright. This teacher was real. His desire to help them and make something great for them was real. Everyone in this movie was fighting their own battle... and everyone came out stronger because of it. It is a true feel-good movie.
There were many characters in this movie that I enjoyed. I mean, Costner nailed his role. But I think my favorite was Maria Bello. So often in these sports movies you see the family suffer. You see the husband and wife argue because of the time he spends away from home coaching and working. But in this case, he had an amazing, supportive wife. She wanted what was best for these boys, too. His entire family was a part of this journey and a part of this new community they find themselves a part of. It's very touching to see how this family evolves together.
I also loved the young boys in this film. They weren't troubled youth who needed saving. They were good kids with hard working parents. But those hard working parents were counting on them to help with the hard, manual labor filled life they lived. These boys didn't need saving, they needed a way to a brighter future. A brighter future that they already held the key to, they just needed someone to believe in them and push for them to achieve it.
I would definitely recommend checking out this great movie. It's entertaining, heartwarming, and overall a really fun experience.

My Thoughts:
This book is really cute. The illustrations are fabulous and really help to bring the story to life. Ninja Bunny is dedicated and determined to being the best Ninja Bunny he can be. He follows all of the rules that will ensure his success, even if not as perfectly as he would like. But then Ninja Bunny faces his biggest challenge and learns his biggest lesson.....
My kids loved reading this book with me. They thought Ninja Bunny was cool, but they really loved the ending and the great lesson that Ninja Bunny learned. It's a fun bedtime story that we will share over and over again!
Keeping my home smelling fresh and clean is a top priority. I love walking into a room and being washed over with a faint, yet spectacular scent. I am famous for trying to accomplish this in so many ways... from candles to plug in's to free standing fresheners. You name it... I've tried it. So when I saw that Renuzit, a brand that I have used and loved in the past, was coming out with a brand new product I knew I wanted to give it a try.
The new Renuzit Pearl Scents are available in five fantastic scents:
Blue Sky Breeze
Serenity
Sparkling Rain
Tranquil
Seductive Pineapple
These scents come in these really cool jars that are nice enough that you don't have to strategically hide them behind a picture frame. Yes, I have done that before. But these jars are just really cool. They are plastic... yay!... I have two small kids, plastic is best. They are lightweight and shaped really cool, the top is even fancy. They look like part of your decor... but smell amazing!
I got to try the Sparkling Rain scent. It's really nice. It smells fresh and clean with a hint of spa. That may sound weird... but it reminds me of the yummy smells when you are at the spa. I put it in my family room because that's the room we use the most. It's the perfect spring scent and we have been enjoying it for a couple of weeks now. How does it look?
Yay for a long lasting, odor neutralizing air freshener! We are big fans of this design and scent. I will be on the hunt for more. I love the variety so I can place them around my house to meet my likes. I can just imagine Tranquil in the bedroom and Blue Sky Breeze in the laundry room. How about some Seductive Pineapple in the kitchen? So many options!
Renuzit Pearl Scents are available now at your local retailer! And a lucky reader will get the chance to try these out for themselves!
* The Renuzit brand provided me with a sample of Renuzit Pearl Scents in exchange for a product review. However, all the opinions expressed are my own.
I love trying new hand soaps. I have a thing about matching my soaps to the season. I feel like it adds a lovely little touch to the bathroom or kitchen to have something fragrant and seasonal helping to decorate my sink. Softsoap is often a go-to brand of mine because they have so many fabulous scents and great looking bottles.
There newest line has everything I am looking for in a hand soap. Fragrance and foaming.... plus top notch germ fighting while still leaving hands feeling soft and silky. These new scents are exactly what I am looking for to help keep things fresh as we open the windows and welcome the gorgeous warm weather!
Jasmine and White Cotton: Impress your guests with the fresh scent of Jasmine and White Cotton. Its airy aroma makes every hand wash sparkle, while lush foam gently purifies the skin.
Whipped Cocoa Butter: Pamper your skin with the rich foaming lather infused with real cocoa butter extracts. The decadent scent of Whipped Cocoa Butter makes every hand wash a treat.
Kitchen Citrus Bliss: Awaken your senses and brighten your home with the crisp, sun-drenched scent of Kitchen Citrus Bliss. Its vibrant aroma invigorates every hand wash, while lush foam gently cleans and soothes skin.
I am a fan! I personally love the refreshing and clean fragrance of the Jasmine and White Cotton. It reminds me of fresh laundry. But having a citrusy scent in the kitchen has been great. My husband is partial to the Whipped Cocoa Butter... it does smell yummy!
I would definitely recommend you check these out at your local retailer and add some fragrance to your spring!

My Thoughts:
I could really write two reviews for this movie... one from an adult's perspective and one from a child's. But either way... the movie is fabulous. The adult side of me is still singing the songs. Yes, the soundtrack is amazing. And reeling with anger toward that sneaky, betraying prince while rooting for the strong princess. The child side of me is still fascinated by this magical world that I was transported to with stunning animation... where magic potions and Sugar Plum Fairies exist.
My daughter is 5 and she fell in love with this movie. From the fun music, to the likable characters (of course the princess, Marianne, was her favorite), to all kinds of magic, adventure, and romance. I was concerned that it would be too dark for her, or heavy with the whole "Midsummer Night's Dream" connection... but she was totally taken with the magic of the whole thing.
The characters are funny and full of personality, the music is fantastic, the animation is beautiful, the story is much more family friendly than I imagined. Overall, it was an incredible family film experience. And one that we will watch again and again!

“MAYA THE BEE MOVIE” Synopsis
Maya is a little bee with a big heart. She dreams of an exciting life of freedom, fun and adventure – the world is simply far too interesting to stay inside a hive! Her funny attempts to fit in bring her into trouble with the Queen’s narrow-minded royal advisor, Buzzlina. With her best friend Willy, Maya buzzes out into the meadow on an exhilarating adventure of self-discovery.
While most bees believe that other insects should be feared, Maya can’t help but make friends with Flip the charismatic and eccentric grasshopper, Kurt the dung beetle and even Sting, a young hornet. But when the Queen’s royal jelly is stolen, it will take Maya and all of her bug buddies to figure out who did it and how to save the day!
One of the best-known and beloved children’s brands of all-time, the stories of Maya The Bee have been passed down among generations of families for years. My Thoughts:
I sat down with my two kids (ages 2 and 5) to watch this fun animated film together. Maya is the star of the show, and a very lovable one at that. She reminded me so much of my daughter with her curiosity, continuous question asking, and fabulous ability to not listen. Ahh, little girls. Maya, like my daughter, is always well intentioned but not always making the best choices.
Maya begins to feel like she doesn't belong. Like she's not like all the other bees. While I see this as a thing to celebrate, kids do not often like feeling different and this can lead to hurt feelings. Maya has to go through many adventures and some new friends to come to the realization that she is perfect just they way she is. That she should embrace what makes her unique and that those characteristics that make her amazing.
It's great to see Maya have the courage to step away from the strict and boring life she has been raised to be a part of, go on an adventure, and meet some truly fabulous friends (Willie was everyones favorite as he has an amazing personality and provides lots of laughs). Maya becomes a hero just by being her and having courage. This film is filled with great messages about honesty, friendship, courage, and loving who you are.
