Smashburger - The New Jersey Burger Review

I am really excited by the number of Smashburgers popping up all around my area. I was fortunate enough to be able to be at two of their openings and experience the menu offered first hand. Their menu features a variety of items from chicken sandwiches to salads to of course, burgers. With their own unique style of preparation, presentation, and dining experience, Smashburger has quickly climbed to the top of our list of family favorites for dinners out.

In my past visits I have tried a variety of items but I had never tried the New Jersey Burger. I'm a Jersey girl... I gotta try it! So I was excited when I was invited to head to my local Smashburger in Florham Park and give it a try.

Smashburger, the nation’s fastest growing “better burger” restaurant, is the only national chain to serve localized burgers inspired by favorite local flavors. In New Jersey, residents can enjoy a custom burger built to satisfy their local palate: the New Jersey Burger.


After researching and testing the most popular ingredient combinations desired by New Jerseyans, the Smashburger team introduced the New Jersey Burger in 2009.  Fans immediately made it one of the most popular sandwiches on the menu.  


100% Angus Beef smashed, seared and seasoned to perfection, the New Jersey Burger is topped with everything that residents of the Garden State crave: Applewood smoked bacon, blue cheese crumbles, grilled onions, haystack onions, lettuce, tomato and mayo on a fresh onion bun.


My take.... amazing! Seriously delicious. I have never been disappointed by a burger, their Smashfries, one oft he fabulous Oreo shakes, or any other item from their menu, so I'm not too surprised that the New Jersey Burger lands right up their with my other favorites.

Another favorite that I have to get each and every time I visit a Smashburger is the Fried Pickles. They come with an amazing dipping sauce and have the most unique flavor. I highly recommend them!

Rock N Learn Review and Giveaway

As a teacher and I mom I know the value of providing educational materials to your child starting at a young age. But I also know how important it is that the learning be fun! My daughter loves music. She bops and sways along to good beats, so Rock N Learn is perfect for her!

Rock N Learn is a great place to go to find all kinds of educational DVD's and CD's that incorporate fun music into the learning experience. It captures kids attention and instills in them the valuable lessons being presented. They have a variety of subjects and grade levels. You can find everything from Nursery Rhymes and the Alphabet to Multiplication, Phonics, and even other languages!

Since my daughter is still very young, I decided to try out the Alphabet DVD. This DVD is geared for ages 3-5 and is about 45 minutes long. Here is a little bit about the DVD:
Children sing along with cool tunes for each letter, play musical games, and learn old and new alphabet songs as they reinforce letter recognition skills, learn letter-sound relationships, and even develop a richer vocabulary. As a special bonus… on the alphabet DVD version, children learn to print each capital and lowercase letter, as well as numbers 0 through 9.


My daughter had a blast with this DVD! She's a little young so she doesn't know her alphabet yet, but she was trying to imitate the songs. I think this is a great way to get her introduced to the alphabet in a fun way.  I loved the variety that this DVD has to offer. I no longer have to rely on the old favorite ABC's to teach my daughter. We can sing different songs, play games, and do activities. And the songs are parent friendly! Yay! I didn't get sick of them or have them running through my head all day. That is a major plus.


This DVD is a great way to mix it up and provide your preschooler with some new ways of learning the alphabet. I love that is includes other skills as well, like letter sounds and writing skills. This can really help get your little one ready for kindergarten or continue to expand skills they already have.

There's Gonna Be a Birthday Bash!!

Yesterday was my little girls' 23 month day. You know what that means.... next month she turns 2! Wow, where did the time go? I still remember being pregnant with her. I still remember the first time I held her. The last two years have truly been the best of my life. Becoming a mom was the greatest things I have ever done. I had no idea how much I could love. The overwhelming feeling of unconditional love has taken over my life and I feel like I am floating every day.

I could go on and on for pages and pages about how wonderful my daughter is and how she has made my life so much better. But if you are a parent I know you know exactly what I'm talking about. And you can completely relate to how quickly the time goes and how you are afraid to blink and miss something.

Mother's Day Gift Idea - Shari's Berries Review

I absolutely adore chocolate covered strawberries. We rarely have them at our house and I view them as a fancy little treat. So when I was given the opportunity to review an item from Shari's Berries there's was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to try the chocolate covered strawberries! My husband also enjoys them, but he is a full chocoholic. The choclatier the better! So when I saw that Shari's Berries offered a package that included 6 chocolate covered strawberries and 4 brownie pops I knew we had found our match!

My package arrived quickly and was packed very well. There was an ice pack to keep things fresh and the box was well padded for protection. The berries came beautifully intact and looking delicious! And the brownie pops were much larger than I thought they would be!

The first night we each enjoyed a strawberry and a brownie pop. I love that the strawberries come with 2 covered in milk chocolate, 2 in dark, and two in white. It offers great variety and allows everyone to get what they want. The berries were huge and mouthwatering! And the brownie pops... oh my... exceptional! They were covered in chocolate and fudgy on the inside. Amazing!

We finished the strawberries the following night and saved a brownie pop to share with my little one. She will love it!
