Holiday Gift Guide: My Caring Cross Review and Giveaway

It's really hard to review something as unique as My Caring Cross. Usually I am looking at a product in terms of it's quality, functionality, visual appeal and so forth. But in the case of My Caring Cross I am looking at something that is much more emotional and symbolic.

Here is a little bit about My Caring Cross:
Caring CrossesTM are individually carved from a single unique piece of beautifully grained olive wood pruned from the olive trees around Bethlehem the birthplace of Jesus. Christians have been carving crosses like this for hundreds of years, originally for pilgrims and more recently tourists visiting the Holy Land. Each craftsman receives a fair price to support their family and Christian community. My Caring Crosses are designed to fit comfortably into the palm of your hand as an aid to prayer or meditation. Ideal as your spiritual companion for easing children's fears, comforting worries and stresses of adults and focusing the prayer of the sick and elderly.

When I first learned about these crosses I immediately thought, wow these sound powerful. To be able to hold a piece of Bethlehem in your hand that has been hand shaped into the most profound symbol for a Christian. To have that piece with you wherever you go and be able to hold it whenever you feel the need.

When my cross arrived I was surprised to see how large it was. It's still small enough to hold in your hand, but it takes up your hand. You can really wrap your entire hand around it and feel its presence with your entire palm. And when you are holding it the first thing you notice is how smooth and soft it is. It's weird to say that a piece of wood feels soft, but it really does.

This cross is intended for my mother in law. I know that she will truly appreciate it's beauty, symbolism, and history behind it. But for now I am holding onto it, literally. I am caring this cross with me for a week to share it's story. Why? Because I think this is something really beautiful that should be shared. These crosses are beyond unique. Each one is truly one of a kind.

With the purchase of one of these crosses you are not only receiving a symbolic piece of Christianity, but you are also helping to support the local craftsmen who truly put their heart and soul into each piece. And would you believe that these are sold for only $5 plus $3 for shipping? These would make the perfect Christmas gift for someone very special to you.

Check out their website for more information and how to order. You should also check out their Facebook page to see pictures of the crosses being made... very interesting! You can also learn about how to bring these crosses to your church for a fundraiser.

I would like to have The Caring Cross for myself as I am looking for some peace in my life right now. This cross would serve as a reminder that I am not alone and that He is always with me.

Thank you,
