The Geometry of Pasta - Book Review

Did you know that there are more than 300 shapes of pasta? And that each shape was designed for a particular reason to be served with certain foods? I had no idea! So when I was given the opportunity to review The Geometry of Pasta, written by critically acclaimed chef Jacob Kennedy and illustrated by award wining designer Caz Hildebrand, I jumped at the chance!

I love to cook. I really do. But, with a 16 month old running around my time in the kitchen is limited so I often find myself going back to my old familiar recipes. The dinner table is.... well, boring. We don't shake things up nearly enough. So as I flipped through this cookbook I was thrilled to see that there is a huge variety of recipes for all kinds of cooks.

Here is a little about this unique cookbook:
THE GEOMETRY OF PASTA pairs over 100 authentic recipes from acclaimed chef Jacob Kennedy with award-winning designer Caz Hildebrand's stunning black-and-white designs to reveal the science, culture, and philosophy behind spectacular pasta dishes from throughout Italian history.

With an Italian husband, I have a big job to try and create pasta dishes that live up to his mother's. With this book I am well on my way! Not only do I have some great recipes to follow, but I also have the knowledge for pasta perfection!

The book is so well written. It's easy to read because the author breaks everything down for us non pasta historians to understand. The translations of the names of the pasta alone are so helpful! Did you know that Farfalle means butterflies? Makes sense! And the black and white design makes it easy to read while still providing the visuals that I need! This book is a must for pasta lovers!

The Geometry of Pasta is published by Quirk Books and is listed for $24.95.

This Place is a Zoo Review and Giveaway

I love stuffed animals. I always have. This love is quickly becoming an excuse to buy every stuffed friend I see for my daughter. But really, how many teddies or puppies can one kid have? That's why when I stumbled up This Place is a Zoo I got excited! Stuffed animals that are unique and different! What makes these stuffed animals so different? They look like real animals. I think this is incredibly cool.

Not only are these animals soft and cuddly, but they also open up a world of opportunities. The educational opportunities are endless. These animals bring the wild into your home. You can build habitats to go with the different types of animals. You can make up plays or open a zoo. You can get creative, have fun and learn about animals all at the same time. And at the end of the day their furry friend can accompany your little one to dream land to continue the adventures!

I was lucky enough to receive the cuddlekin cheetah for review. My daughter absolutely loves it.  She runs around with him making him "roar" even though I think they make more of a loud "meow," but she thinks a roar is appropriate and its her imagination! She also loves to cuddle up with it. It's so soft. The downside? The occasional quick glance in the playroom when I think there's a real animal cuddled up in the corner. Ahh!

We love our cheetah! You can check out the HUGE selection of over 1,100 different cuddly and lifelike stuffed animals here!

GIVEAWAY: One Lucky Reader will win an animal of choice (valued up to $14.95).

New smashburger opens in Florham Park, NJ

Last week my husband and I had the great opportunity to visit the new smashburger restaurant before it had it's grand opening in Florham Park, NJ.

smashburger was born to carry the torch for the modern burger lover. Where smash. sizzle. savor means a dedication to creating the best-tasting "cooked-to-order" burger. We start with 100% Angus Beef, smashed, seared and seasoned on the grill, placed on a butter-toasted artisan bun and topped with the highest-quality cheeses, freshest produce and condiments. A place where you can get a 1/3 or 1/2 pound burger with one of our great recipes or you can create your own. A place that is close to home and affordable. Where the energy is comfortable and relaxed. Where the food is served to you quickly and on a plate - not in a bag. -- smashburger is the better way.
Smashburger offers a unique style of dining. You order what you want, how you want it at the counter. You then go and have a seat and your food is delivered to you as soon as it's ready.
We had a great experience at smashburger. We each enjoyed a smashuburger and my husband ordered a side of smashfries and I ordered a side of fried pickles. Yes, you read that right... fried pickles. They were awesome! They came with a buttermilk ranch dressing and were so good. Who would have thought? The smashfries were also delicious and very flavorful with the rosemary, garlic and olive oil they are seasoned with.

We also each had to try the Oreo shake that I read so much about before our visit. It was fantastic! We left full and satisfied.

Smashburgers are popping up all over the country and you can find a location nearest to you. At each location you will find an affordable menu that also offers more than just burgers. Their salads and chicken sandwiches also looked amazing! I wish I could have tried it all, but I think I would have exploded.  I would recommend you check one out!

Dance with the Rockettes!

Here is a great opportunity for all my local mommas!

The holidays are right around the corner! When I think about getting ready for the holidays I often think of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. And who's the star of the parade? In my opinion, the Rockettes! Shhh... don't tell Santa! But really, I always looked forward to those high kicking ladies! And this year Macy's and the Rockettes are offering you and your children the opportunity of a lifetime!

On October 2nd at 2:00 pm the Rockettes will be teaching their high kicking moves to shoppers and children at the Macy's in Cherry Hill, Philadelphia Metro Area. Imagine getting an up close and personal dance lesson from the most well known dancers around! If you can't make that one they will also be appearing at the Macy's in Bridgewater, NJ on October 16th.

The event is FREE and each participant will receive an "Honorary Rockette" certificate.  Don't forget your cameras to capture this special event! Fun for the whole family!

Check HERE to see if the Rockettes will be visiting a Macy's near you!

Dora Talking Digital Camera Review

My daughter absolutely loves Dora! She also loves my camera. Every time I take my camera out she runs over and wants it. Did you ever notice how kids can have a million toys but they always want what they can't have? My daughter goes crazy for all our electronics... cameras, cell phones, laptops. You know, the stuff that would be really expensive to replace is she broke it!

The Dora Talking Digital Camera has been a life saver! When my daughter comes running for my camera I hand her her own camera and she loves it! This camera not only talks in Dora's voice, but it also takes real pictures that you can upload to your computer using special software that it comes with.
Description:
Key Features
  • Dora the Explorer Snapshots software to get photos and videos from your camera, manage and organize your images by creating albums, edit images using automatic and manual tools.

    Pelican Bib Review

As many of you saw from my recent applesauce video, we have entered the word of self feeding. We're moving beyond finger foods and have turned over the spoon. This is a very dangerous process that has led to mountains of laundry and thousands of laughs. I love watching my daughter maneuver that spoon to her mouth getting some in and spilling lots. It's just another sign of how much life has changed in such a short amount of time.

With this messy adventure underway I was on a hunt for something to make the process easier for me. This is when I discovered The Pelican Bib. The design of the bib looked like an answer to many of my mess issues, specifically the lap full of food at the end of a meal. So I was thrilled to have the opportunity to review one of these bibs!

Here is a little bit about The Pelican Bib:
    • is constructed of soft, molded plastic (100% non-toxic) for easy wearing and durability.
    • is great for babies and toddlers alike!
    • includes a convenient and comfortable adjustable neck fastener.
    • has a generously sized crumb catcher for all of baby's spills!
    • has a comfortable, ergonomic design.
    • measures 8" from the neck down and 9.5" wide at the crumb catcher.
    • allows for easy clean-up. --Just rinse off or wipe with a damp sponge!
    • is available in four fun colors: pink, blue, red and white.
    • is made of FDA approved, food-grade material.
    • is proudly made in America and is safe for children: Lead-free, BPA-free, PVC-free and Phthalate-free.
    • is a recyclable, eco-friendly product!
I am incredibly happy with The Pelican Bib. It catches the majority of food that falls. The plastic is great because it even catches liquid and mushy foods with easy cleanup. I am definitely going to be purchasing more! You can buy them from... AMAZON! Yay, I love it when you can shop from Amazon :) Also, be sure to follow The Pelican Bib on Facebook and twitter for updates on products!

ROCKABYE Baby - Lullaby Renditions of Elvis Presley

Rockabye Baby offers the greatest selection of CD's for children. They take the music we are familiar with and love and turn it into relaxing and beautiful lullabies for your little one. They have a huge selection of CD's featuring lullaby renditions from The Beach Boys, Journey, Kanye West, Guns and Roses and much more.

I have had the pleasure to review two of their CD's, Lullaby Renditions of Journey and Lullaby Renditions of Black Sabbath. I have fallen in love with the concept behind this music. I love being able to listen to songs that I recognize and enjoy while my little one snoozes. Sure beats listening to Hush Little Baby for the thousandth time.

When I heard about the release of their newest CD, Lullaby Renditions of Elvis Presley, I was so excited! Elvis is a staple in the history of music! I grew up listening to his music and now my daughter can too, but in a different and relaxing way.
Have a new baby's tantrums turned a happy home into heartbreak hotel? Are you woe-some tonight because your little hound dog is crying all the time? That's all right, Mama. Don't cry, Daddy. If your teddy bear is all shook up, try these tender renditions of the King's legendary hits. There will be peace in the nursery someday.
Check out their website for a look at their large selection and to get a preview of the music. You can shop there or on Amazon.com.

    365 Everyday Value Diapers Review

My diaper dilemma continues! You all know I went out on a limb and tried cloth diapers. There were so many positive things about cloth diapers... but the one thing I keep coming back to is convenience. I LOVE the convenience of disposable diapers, especially since we are on the go so much.

Well, Whole Foods just may have solved my diaper dilemma! Whole Foods Market is launching a brand new version of the 365 Everyday Value Diaper line. They are bringing customers an improved product at a lower price. Sounds good to me! They will be filling those packages with more diapers for only $9.99. This is $2 less than the old rate.

So the price is right, but why are these diapers helping me through my diaper dilemma? Well, one of my major concerns is the health ricks associated with disposable diapers. 365 Everyday Value™ Baby Diapers are made with chlorine free materials, are hypo-allergenic, latex free, and contain no perfumes or dyes making them a safer, healthier choice for your tot- and the environment.

Another concern I have is for the environment. I want my daughter to enjoy a beautiful Earth. And my grandchildren and great grandchildren and so on. 365 Everyday Value™ Baby Diapers are responsibly produced and reduce the amount of waste that ends up in our landfills. Because they are chlorine, dye and latex free, these diapers are not only less likely to irritate your baby’s skin; they are less harmful to our soil and thus a more sustainable choice for on-the-go eco-conscious moms everywhere.

Sounding good? I think so. But here is the big question.... do they work? Moms are busy enough without having to deal with diaper leaks. I know they are a major downer on my day! With absorbency gel made from a non-toxic super absorbent polymer and the new accordion fastener that ensures a snug fit, 365 Everyday Value™ Baby Diapers keep your kids dry and happy, via natural means. Those are not my words.... my words are YES THEY WORK! WE haven't experienced any leaks and have been thrilled with the diapers! My daughter is also known to suffer from diaper rashes and we haven't had one since we started trying these diapers (and we have been using them for over a week now).

I love these diapers and I love that I can find them for a great price at my local Whole Foods Market!

    The Melting Pot

There are more than 145 Melting Pot locations across the United States. This franchise is also going to Canada! Each Melting Pot location offers a unique style of dining in which you participate in the cooking of your meal through the fondue experience. It is a fun and yummy adventure!

I recently had the wonderful opportunity to visit The Melting Pot in Westwood, NJ to review the new French Inspired Big Night Out menu.

The French Inspired menu offers a 4 course meal as well as wines and specialty drinks that pair well with the flavors and the theme. The meal begins with a flavorful cheese, “Fondue à la France,” consists of a white wine base, baby Brie, Fontina, Gruyère and Raclette cheeses accented with Nueske’s bacon, onions, white truffle cream and fresh chives It was very unique and the bacon flavor was very nice. This was served with a variety of dippers, including apples, vegetables and bread.  We followed the cheese with a salad, The Niçoise. A classic French salad from the city of Nice, includes French and yellow beans, Niçoise olives imported from France, tomatoes and hard-boiled egg topped with a robust shallot vinaigrette.  The dressing was very light and enjoyable.

For the main course we selected the Lobster's Indulgence and were very pleased with our selection. All of the choices provided in this selection were fantastic. The lobster stood out because it was incredibly flavorful and was served with a melted butter that was also seasoned to perfection. The main course is also served with vegetable and a variety of sauces. Each sauce is different and goes well with different types of meat and/or seafood. My personal favorite was the Green Goddess that tasted fantastic on the potatoes and mushrooms. I also love the flavor in their teriyaki sauce.

And of course, a fondue experience would not be complete without the chocolate! We decided to stay on course with the French Inspired Big Night Out with the dessert. Chef Shane whipped up a new white chocolate crème brûlée fondue. This is a mixture of white chocolate and crème caramel syrup flambéed tableside with caramelized sugar and alcohol spray to form the hard crust. It truly mimicked the flavor signature to creme brulee. This chocolate was accompanied by a variety of desserts perfect for dipping, such as strawberries, cereal treats, brownies, cheesecake and more. Are you hungry yet?

Dining at the Westwood, NJ Melting Pot was a truly enjoyable experience. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated with a nice wine room and booths that create privacy. The staff was all incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. Our waiter, Jose, was attentive and professional. He made sure we had all the information we needed in order to have an enjoyable experience.

For my husband and I to enjoy the four course meal it took 2 hours. This was a welcome change to our usual 15 minute dinners where our daughter is throwing food and needs constant attention. We enjoyed every moment of each others company in a peaceful environment.
While we truly enjoyed the French Inspired Big Night out this menu option is only available for a limited time. You can take a look at the dinner menu here. Also, regular menu items may serve as substitutions in the Big Night Out menu to help you create your ideal meal.

The proprietors of the Westwood, NJ Melting Pot, Will and Carol Layfield, are also the proprietors of the Melting Pot restaurants in White Plains, NY and Darien, CT. While providing this fantastic style of dining for the tr-state area, they are also active in the community raising funds for several New Jersey based organizations. On this list is the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, which you all know is near and dear to my heart. I am thrilled to support the Layfield's restaurants due to the exceptional dining experience, as well as their contributions to deserving causes.

GIVEAWAY: FIVE Lucky Readers will receive a $20 DIP Certificate! These DIP Certificates are redeemable at the Westwood, NJ; White Plains, NY and Darien, CT locations.

    BEARPAW Review and Giveaway

I was recently given the fantastic opportunity to review a new pair of BEARPAW boots. This was incredibly exciting because I own a pair of their boots that I absolutely love, so I was anxious to try out this new pair and see if they are as comfy and warm.

This new pair has a knit top with cute pom poms that hang from the side. When the boots arrived I immediately took them out to try on! Wouldn't you know we were having a bit of a heat wave? It had been so cool that I knew the boots would be perfect for the weather, but they came just in time for a 80 degree day. I didn't care! On they went!

Whenever I put my BEARPAW boots on I always say to my husband, "Ahhh, I feel like I'm walking on clouds." This pair was no exception! I love the soft fluffy interior as I slide my foot down the cushy sole. I don't think I could imagine being more comfortable in a pair of shoes. It literally feels like I'm wearing slippers.

One of my concerns with wearing boots like this is that they will be too clunky. But they're really not. They don't feel heavy and they fit so nicely on my feet. I also love that they look great under pants or over pants for two different looks. This pair is also very easy to get on. With my other pair I have to sit down and kinda yank them on, but this pair literally just slid on. I truly love them!

BEARPAW boots are also clearly well made. My old pair has held up great and still look new even though I pretty much live in them during the fall and winter. I can tell by looking at my new pair that this is just the BEARPAW standard. They are sturdy and fabulous!

GIVEAWAY: One Lucky Reader will win a pair of the Emma Boots (pictured above)!
*Color will be discussed based on availability.

Vanny Bean: Organic Edible Paint Review

Vanny Bean can truly be your one stop shopping for organic childrens clothing. They carry everything from onesies for your little one to dresses and outfit sets. They also have a lovely selection of toys, diaper bags and gear, bedding, furniture, baby slings, shoes and more.

I have had the pleasure to work with Vanny Bean in the past and have been thrilled with the service and products. And I am pleased to once again be able to share one of the fabulous products that they carry with you!

Vanny Bean sent me a set of Organic Edible Paints from Wee Can Too! I was ecstatic when I was offered the opportunity to review these paints. You may or may not know that I have a degree is Visual Art from my undergraduate days. I had a focus in drawing and painting and love the idea behind self expression. Have you ever felt like your little one has had a lot to say but can't get it out in words? This paint gives even the youngest of artists the opportunity to get their hands dirty and express themselves in colors!

The paints are easy to use and made with infant-safe organic ingredients. They  have an incredible shelf life, leave no stain on tables or skin, have a pleasant taste, but not too pleasant so not to encourage the child to eat the paint, and are very nutritious!
As far as I'm concerned these paints are genius! We had a fantastic time getting dirty and making art. It was easy to clean up and you just store it in the fridge until your next adventure into art. And at only $6 a bottle it's affordable for you to enable your child to create priceless art.

Check out all the fantastic products carried by Vanny Bean!

    Eight is Enough!

I have been tagged by the wonderful Mom vs the Boys! So now I get to answer her 8 questions and then tag 8 more people and come up with my own 8 questions! Yay! I love the getting to know me kinda games!

Ok, here are her 8 questions for me:

    1. My 8th Anniversary is coming up. If you are married, how many years has it been and how do you like to celebrate?
I am married... we celebrated our 4 year anniversary this past June <3 We like to celebrate by going away. This year we had our one year old with us so we did a long weekend at the beach and it was perfect!

    2. If I offered you an all-expense paid vacation to anywhere in the world, but only for one day-where would you go? (and for the record, I'm not offering! lol)
Oh man, I though bloggers gave stuff away? I think you should give me an all expensive paid vacation! Just kidding... I would totally LOVE to go to Italy. I would eat the whole day I was there!

    3. If you could send a message back in time to your teenage self, what would you say to her?

I would tell her to stop stressing about the small stuff and enjoy life. It goes too quickly and in the end none of the silly stuff that you obsess over matters.

    4. Along the same lines, What advice would you give to your pregnant self about motherhood?
Pretty much the same thing. I totally stressed while I was pregnant. I worried about not getting enough sleep and how different life would be. I would tell myself to relax and enjoy every moment. Life falls into place and I will quickly forget what life was like before this precious miracle and I wouldn't be able to imagine life without her!

    5. Are you living the dream?? Is this what you imagined your life would be like?
Yes and no. I truly do have everything I ever wanted in terms of a wonderful family and true happiness. But I wish I didn't have to work and could be home all the time.

    6. I'm coming for dinner, what will you make for me?? Any favourite go-to, company's coming, dishes?
Hmmm.... chicken cutlets and my grandma's mac and cheese. You'll love it! What time should I expect you and could you bring a dessert?

7.What's your favourite cuss word? lol
Hmmm.... I try not to cuss at all. Especially now that we have little ears around. But when I get REAL mad I tend to utter the sh*t word. Yikes!

    8. Tell me one thing you would change about my blog and why?
Your blog is awesome! I love your writing style... I always giggle when reading. But I would love to see more giveaways open to US. I'm sure you feel the same way about wanting to see more giveaways open to Canada! Haha!

Ok... my turn to tag 8 people!
    Mrs. Mama Drama
    Ace and Friends
    Florida Frugal Family
    Little BGCG
    Show Me Mama
    The Bragging Mommy
    It's All About the Savings
    Southern Reflections

And here are my eight questions for them:
Do you have any children? If so what ages?

What's your favorite thing you do to unwind?

If you online shop, what's your favorite site and why?

What's your biggest pet peeve about blogging?

Do you have any fun fall activities that you are going to do this year?

If you have time to read (haha) what's your favorite book?

If you review products, what's your "most wanted" item that you would love review?

    Zak! Designs Review and Giveaway

Zak! Designs carries a great selection of kitchen items. They offer items for preparing meals, serving food and taking items on the go. Their designs are very hip and trendy! They can help you make your table look good.

While I love many of their products, what caught my eye was their selection of baby and kids products. They have great products for at home or on the go that will make eating tons more fun for little ones! Some of the characters you can find in their kids section are Dora, Toy Story, Hello Kitty, Disney Princess's and so many more!

Zak! Designs was awesome enough to send me one of their hot items for review, a 3-piece dinnerware set with Lunch bag. This set is available in Toy Story, Cars, Disney Princess and Fairies. I decided that the perfect match for my daughter would be the Fairies.

This set is fantastic! It comes with a cup, plate and bowl and has a matching lunch bag. This makes it so easy to pack up the set and take it on the go! The images on the set make it fun, but the set is also the perfect size for little ones. All the pieces are easy to clean and dishwasher safe. They are also very durable and can survive being dropped (I can vouch for that!).

You should definitely check out Zak! Designs fantastic selection and look for them at a retailer near you!  And you know I have to add that you can find them on Amazon.com. I love Amazon.

    * Zak! Designs has also launched a Mealtime Fun Zone that has a discussion forum, recipe exchange and other ways for parents to get involved. You can check it out and get in on the action HERE!

Chicken Soup for the Soul: A Book of Miracles Review and Giveaway

I have been reading books from the Chicken Soup for the Soul series for years. The name tells it all, each book really is a type of healing for the heart. The stories provided in these books bring you so many emotions. They have been a help for me throughout my life because they can truly put things in perspective.

One of the things I love about this series is how you can find a book that focuses on your personal needs. Whether you are a teen, a mother, a dad, an athlete, a teacher... there is something for everyone. And for many of us we will fit into several of these books. I have about a dozen of them and still go back and read different stories even though I've read them all before. They just provide something for your soul, reading real life experiences from people just like you. Some are going through things similar to you, some are funny, some are sad, all are moving and inspirational. And each story is a quick read, so you can turn to these books to read one story or many. Whatever your soul is craving at that moment.

The newest book in the series is A Book of Miracles. This book is incredibly touching. Here is a little about the book:
101 True Stories of Healing, Faith, Divine Intervention, and Answered Prayers
Everyone loves a good miracle story, and this book provides 101 true stories of healing, divine intervention, and answered prayers. These amazing stories prove that God is alive and very active in the world today, working miracles on our behalf. Regular people share their personal stories of God's Divine intervention and healing power as He makes the impossible possible! The incredible accounts shared by people from all walks of life show His awesome love and involvement in our lives. This book of miracles will encourage, uplift, and recharge the faith of Christian readers.

This book has restored many of my doubts and made me stronger in my faith. Sometimes life hands you something and you feel there is no way out, no hope. But these stories are proof that miracles happen and faith should never be lost. I got a glimpse into 101 different people's lives, different struggles and different emotions. And I have come to view life in a different way thanks to their stories. I have come to view prayer in a different way. It's a powerful book.

The Chicken Soup for the Soul books can be found at many bookstores. You can also find them on Amazon.com. You can also check out their website to see all the great books!

    Costume Squad Review and Giveaway

Halloween is just around the corner......

Costume Squad has a fantastic selection of Halloween costumes. They have mens costumes, womens costumes, sexy costumes and funny costumes. They even have a section for dog costumes. My personal favorite? The Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head costumes.... hilarious!

Their selection of costumes is huge and you are sure to find what you are looking for. But if you are like my husband you won't wear a costume at all. This is really an inconvenience because I love Halloween and I love to dress up. But the hubster is not a fan and I am lucky if I can get him in a Halloween looking outfit. So when I showed him the Halloween t-shirts on Costume Squad's website I was thrilled when I saw the 13 year old boy come out at the site of the Ghost Busters t-shirt. Yes, this he would wear and he would wear it with pride.

Costume Squad very generously sent us the Ghost Busters shirt for review and they did not disappoint my husband. Get this... the shirt even glows in the dark. He will be the coolest guy on the block sporting the Ghost Buster logo. I am pleased with the quality of the t-shirt and think this will keep him happy for many years to come!

GIVEAWAY: One Lucky Reader will win either a mystery shirt or a $15 gift certificate (winners choice)

    A Very Rare Spotted Bug....

Happy Friday everyone! I love Fridays... I feel like my weekend has started. The only downside to Friday is that it's laundry day. But I feel like it's so much easier to get through the laundry on a Friday because I know the next day will be a fun day! Unlike Monday laundry day that is just rotten and often ends with the laundry not getting done... hehe!

Anyway, I feel like I haven't done any momma blogging in so long! i even missed Wordless Wednesday this week! Well, I have an explanation.... this week we discovered a very rare spotted bug......

Yes, this is my sweet little bug covered from head to toe in very mysterious spots. These spots started with a low fever.... never reaching above 100.9. I wasn't too concerned with this fever since it lasted less than 24 hours and when she wasn't sleeping (she slept a lot that day) she was happy. So I figured she was fighting something off and when she woke the next morning all was well and she was back to herself.

Then... the spots. A few at first... hmmm... allergic reaction? Then more... ummm chicken pox? Then a million ALL OVER..... ahhh my child is cleary suffering from some rare disease that needs immediate medical attention! Off to the pediatrician we went. Yes, I am stronlgy considering signing up for that standing weekly appointment with the pediatrician. Just kidding.. I don't go THAT often... every 2 weeks should do it :)

I love doctors reactions.. it's kind of like "oh this is not big deal" when I am sitting there with my heart in my throat and sure that the next words out of his mouth are going to be a serious diagnosis. Nope... this is a virus and it doesn't even have a name. At least not a name he can give me. It's a normal, every day, run of the mill virus that will work it's way out. HAH! I would think he would know by now that that answer is not going to cut it with a first time mom. I want a name and something I can DO. I hate not being able to DO anything.

I had to do nothing. Ugh! I just had to sit and stare at her to make sure the spots didn't continue to multiply. I had to check her temperature every 30 minutes because I was sure at any minute it would be sky rocketing. I had to chase her around the house with her sippy cup because I was sure she would be dehydrated at any moment. Mind you this whole time that I am acting like a lunatic she is acting completely normally, showing no signs of illness... well except for her spots!

And then we woke up this morning... and the spots were gone. Just like that! Who knew? Well, the doctor knew. My other mommy friends knew. Even my own mother knew! Who knew our mothers knew anything?!? And now I know... and I won't freak out the next time. Haha.. yeah right! I will never learn. But that's ok... I would rather be safe than sorry and my pediatrician is quickly learning that. See you next week, doc!

    Sidral Mundet Apple Soda

I was recently given the opportunity to try a very unique product. Sidral Mundet is a Mexican apple soft drink that is made with real apples.  The beverage is pasteurized and natural. Sidral Mundet has been a part of Mexico's heritage for over a hundred years.

Made with natural apple juice, natural sugar and no artificial flavors or colors,
Sidral Mundet boasts a unique and delicious taste.

For this review I received the apple and the green apple flavored beverages. The apple flavor was light and crisp. The carbonation made it similar to sparkling cider but it wasn't as sweet. It was very refreshing.

The green apple flavor was a light green in color. It tasted a little bit more sour, almost like a watered down jolly rancher. Again, it tasted light and crisp, but this one was very unique. I really enjoyed the taste but couldn't drink too much of it at once.

I am really glad that I had the opportunity to try this different kind of beverage. This seems like a tasty and healthy alternative to typical soda.

You can become a fan of their Facebook page for news and updates about products!
